Anyone who was anyone in the world of office-based professionals was at The Office Show from 28th February to 1st March 2018. The place was busy to say the least, and that’s with the snow that had fallen so suddenly overnight. But then, that’s the thing with office professionals (including, of course, your London courier Absolutely); they turn up. They work hard. They are professional in every sense of the word.
The Office Show was held in the Grand Hall Gallery at Olympia, one of London’s premier exhibition spaces. The entire event was an exciting mix of talks and workshops, networking opportunities, and trade stands offering everything from excellent courier services (and we loved every moment of being there!) to office supplies to food delivery services and much more besides. For those who manage and maintain an office, there could be no better place to be than at The Office Show. This is where you would find everything you need. No one would go away without at least one idea of something new to try, plus a good selection of new contacts and business cards to work through as the need arose. And most importantly, all of this was done whilst having fun.
It all started with breakfast. New for 2018. The Office Show offered breakfast training sessions that ran from 8.30 to 9.30am. This useful extra time enabled visitors to really start their day with a bang, listening to talks and networking all whilst enjoying a light buffet of pastries and hot drinks. This proved to be hugely successful, and set many people up for a great day ahead.
Another new innovation for The Office Show 2018 was the book corner. This is where speakers were able to sign their books and chat to interested parties.
Networking is a major part of any trade show and The Office Show is no different. In fact, it’s better. That’s because The Office Show has a dedicated networking area where those who want to meet new contacts can go specifically to do just that. If you don’t enjoy networking or you’re new to the idea, this makes it all much easier – after all, you know everyone who is in the networking area is expecting to be talked to. There must have been dozens, scores, perhaps even hundreds of new business relationships that were created simply down to this clever thinking.
And because The Office Show would be nowhere and nothing without the office professionals themselves, there was even a dedicated VA conference. The VA Conference & Awards, sponsored by BeMyVA, ran on 1st March and was a sell-out.
Office professionals are the life blood and the backbone of the business world which is why The Office Show is so important; it’s why Absolutely are so proud to have been able to be one of the sponsors of the event. As sponsors, we had a presence in the registration area where we were on hand to greet each and every visitor personally. Our stands were busy from morning ’til night, where our staff were on hand to offer friendly and expert advice.
We also had some fantastic giveaways for all visitors to take home with them. Our fleeces were a particular success, which was no surprise considering the weather conditions outside. We were particularly proud to see these worn throughout the show, especially by Jackie Barry – a key speaker on “The PA as an event organiser” panel.
In addition to all of this, we had a fantastic prize draw where visitors had the opportunity to win: a set of GHD platinum hair straighteners, a Radley handbag and a selection of ELEMIS gift sets
If you didn’t have the opportunity to meet us on the day, you can still enter the prize draw by entering your details via our site. Additionally, you can double your chances of winning by following us on LinkedIn: Absolutely – Couriers.
We loved talking to current and potential new customers, explaining what we do, how we do it, and why we can help them with their courier needs. Our cargo bikes were a particular success with visitors, showing how we can get in and around London for our Sameday services.
